Buying a quality men's suit has never been easier thanks to Samuel Windsor and to make sure you get the perfect fit, every time, we've
put together this comprehensive guide to help you measure up.
All you need to get started is a measuring tape, a
friendly helper and a pen and paper to write down
the measurements.
Please keep in mind when taking measurements
that you might well have to round up or down to the
nearest inch, so with each measurement, make a note of whether you'd prefer to go slightly
smaller or larger.
MEASUREMENT 1: THE CHEST
Measuring for: the suit jacket
To get an accurate chest measurement for your suit jacket, wrap the tape around your body
under the armpits so it sits across your chest, level with your nipples. Make sure there's enough
give in the tape by sliding your index finger between the tape and your body.
MEASUREMENT 2: THE SLEEVES
Measuring for: the sleeves
Measure from the top of the shoulder down to where you like the sleeve to sit, normally just
below the wrist. If you already have a suit jacket, it's a good idea to wear that, as you can
measure more accurately by using the shoulders seam.
At Samuel Windsor, we offer three sleeve lengths for each chest size; short, medium and long.

MEASUREMENT 3: THE WAIST
Measuring for: suit trousers
Wrap the tape around your waist at the level your trousers normally sit. Again, make sure the
tape is held firmly but there should be enough room to push your index finger in between the
tape and your body.
MEASUREMENT 4: THE LEGS
Measuring for: suit trousers
Making sure to stand perfectly straight, measure from the lowest part of the crotch down to the
point you like your trousers to sit. If you already have a pair of suit trousers, it's a good idea to
wear them, as you can measure more accurately from the crotch.
